Grey Giant Dirt Eraser at a glance
How does the Grey Giant Dirt Eraser work?
Definition: A melamine foam eraser is a sponge made of melamine resin foam. The material has a very fine, firm structure that behaves like extremely fine sandpaper when rubbed.
Application: When moistened, the sponge glides over the surface and picks up the top layer of dirt without the need for a cleaning agent.
Result: The dirt is being removed, and the sponge is slowly wearing down in the process. This is normal and shows that it's working. Simply wipe away small crumbs with a damp cloth.
How to use the Grey Giant Dirt Eraser: Step by step
- Test: Try it out in an inconspicuous area first.
- Moistening: Briefly hold the sponge under water and squeeze it out well. It should be damp, not dripping.
- Rub gently: Rub the soiled area with light pressure. The sponge does the work; hardly any pressure is needed.
- Wipe clean: Remove loosened dirt and sponge crumbs with a damp cloth.
If organic residues or odors remain afterwards, for example in grout, on upholstery or in the sauna, you can remove them with the Phoenix Enzymreiniger. You can find the instructions in the Product Guide.

The dirt eraser works mechanically. What removes dirt can also damage sensitive surfaces. Do not use on:
- Lacquer and high gloss: Car paint, piano lacquer, high-gloss fronts in kitchen and bathroom.
- Sensitive plastics: Acrylic glass, screens, eyeglass lenses, scratch-resistant coatings.
- Matte wall paint and wallpaper: A shiny spot can appear here.
- Coated pans and pots: The non-stick coating can be damaged.
Our recommendation: Always test on an inconspicuous area first and use light pressure.
It fits with that
The Grey Giant dirt eraser complements the Phoenix Universal CleanerFirst, mechanically remove the layer of dirt, then enzymatically break down organic residues and odors. A wet vacuum cleaner is useful for upholstery and carpets, while a pressure sprayer is better for spot cleaning. You can find both as a set among the Phoenix products. Shop.
