Why removing pet odor with enzymes works
Pet odors don't arise in a vacuum. They have molecular causes: Uric acid crystals from urine, Protein compounds from sweat and glandular secretions, Fatty acids from tallow and markings, Carbohydrate residues from saliva and food residue.
Traditional cleaners work superficially. They loosen dirt, mask it with fragrances, but do not affect the odor-causing molecular structure. The result: after three days, the smell returns because the culprits are still embedded in the material.
Phoenix works differently. Specific Enzymes — Proteases, lipases, amylases and Urea — They break down the organic odor-causing substances into odorless building blocks: amino acids, free fatty acids, sugar molecules. The substrate disappears, and the odor goes with it.
Sketch: Animal odor is embedded several layers deep in the material — Phoenix enzymes penetrate and break down the culprits where they are.

Expert hacks for stubborn pet odor
💡 Occlusion method for old, dried urine
For markings that are weeks or months old, a single spray is often insufficient. Apply Phoenix solution generously, cover with cling film, and leave to work for 4 to 8 hours. The film prevents evaporation, allowing the enzymes to work undisturbed deep within the markings. Then, remove the residue while still wet and vacuum up any remaining residue.
💡 Ammonia in the stable — respiratory health
Standing ammoniaThe smell in the stable irritates the respiratory system of both horse and rider. Apply Phoenix solution to the stall walls and stable aisle using a pressure sprayer. The urease activity converts the ammonia-producing substrate, and the pungent odor disappears within a few hours.
💡 Safely clean terrariums & cages
Reptiles and birds are sensitive to harsh cleaning agents. Phoenix is enzyme-based, without aggressive acids or alkalis. Move the animal during cleaning, empty the terrarium and cage, spray with Phoenix solution, let it soak in, wipe off, allow to dry thoroughly, and then rearrange.
Removing pet odor — step by step
- Mixing: Dissolve 20 g of Phoenix granules in 1 liter of lukewarm water (35–40°C) in a pressure sprayer for 2 minutes.
- Moving the animal: Move the animal to another area or transport box during cleaning.
- Pre-cleaning: Remove coarse soiling (feces, litter, leftover food) mechanically.
- Spray on: Spray Phoenix solution generously on all affected surfaces — bed, ceiling, box, cage, terrarium walls.
- Effects: 15 to 30 minutes for superficial odors, 4 to 8 hours for old markings (occlusion method).
- Wipe clean: Wipe with clean water or absorb while wet, then allow materials to dry thoroughly.
- Reset animal: Only when the surface is completely dry.

When stored dry, it remains stable for several years; enzymes are in dormant mode.
When freshly mixed, it is fully active for 48 hours, then slowly degrades.
A 20g sachet makes 1 liter of solution, a 100g box makes 5 liters.
Keep out of reach of children and animals. Even if there is no danger, children and animals should not have direct access to the product.
